I'm on baby step 3 in financial peace University. That has me saving up three to six months of living expenses. Six months of living expenses is $17,000 right now with my rent at $1,400 a month.
I calculate that I have room in my budget to save $1,200 to $1,400 a month if I stop impulse spending.
So far today I have wanted to spend on the following:
A new cell phone
Getting my real ID through the state of Pennsylvania
Food
And that's just today. I don't need a real ID until May of 2023. My phone is fine. It is not an iPhone but it is fine. I don't need a 5G phone because 5G doesn't even work in my area. And I have all the food I need in my refrigerator. I'm a real slave to fast food even though I have a lot of gut issues so I can't eat meat, can't eat bread, so for me eating out is basically an $8 salad. I can make a better salad at home for less than that but it's not fun food and I'm really addicted to fun food.
